The Ave Podcast – Super Bowl 53 Reaction Show

The Ave Podcast with Cal Cee. Episode 64: Super Bowl 53 Reaction Show

Today on The Ave Podcast, we have our 2nd annual Super Bowl post game reaction podcast. I invited back friend of the Podcast Roger Callendar immediately after the game to discuss the Patriots victory over the Rams, the decision to hold back Todd Gurley, the genius of Bellichek’s playcalling, Julian Edleman’s shining moment and who he matches up with historically, and a lot more. Last year, I allowed Mr. Callendar the space to vent his pain out after the Pats loss. This time, I gave him that same space to bask in the Pats glory. I regret my decision wholeheartedly.

The Ave Podcast with Cal Cee. Episode 62: The Surviving R. Kelly Reaction…

Today on the first episode of The Ave Podcast for 2019, we dive in an discuss the Surviving R. Kelly docu-series that was launched on Lifetime this month. Alongside past contributor & SSA Family Member Headley, we break down the documentary, share our views during the height of the underage sex tape scandal, how power, fame, and celebrity can affect people’s views on their favorite artist, plus A LOT MORE. This is kind of a late post (which I explain the reasoning for it at the beginning of the podcast), but felt the need to still share with you all.

#TheStoop: “It Was All A (Club) Dream…”

#TheStoop: “It Was All A (Club) Dream”…

Today on #TheStoop: A Mini-Podcast Series, in the spirit of Flashback Friday, we take you back to the 2003-2004 era when Chocolate City* had one of the biggest clubs for the culture. I invite Andrew Mambo (ESPN’s 30 For 30 Podcast), and Headley (past contributor to South Shore Ave), as we take you back down memory lane and discuss “Club Dream”, one of the greatest entertainment night clubs in the DC-Maryland-Virginia (aka The “DMV”), as well as being the biggest club on the East Coast. We break down the atmosphere, the vibe, and share stories from our experience(s) of the legendary nightclub. If you missed out… that’s okay. We accept your apology.

* “Chocolate City” is the nickname for Washington, D.C., and if you’re only now learning this, I’m glad that I was able to help you understand what that term meant. And also…… really?
